Tatum Artifacts To Be Donated to The Jazz
Museum in Harlem
Art Tatum’s
widow, Geraldine, recently became ill and by necessity, she
is putting their
LA home up for sale. Zenph Studios arranged to pack, transport
and store a number of
Tatum artifacts from the house, including: Art’s prized
Steinway B grand piano, a number of touring
trunks filled with clothes, and a locked piano bench filled
with personal papers and sheet
music.
The “Tatum musical artifacts” will be donated to
The National Jazz Museum in Harlem
and included in a forthcoming exhibit featuring legendary jazz
greats.
The ceremony of the donation will take place after the
show, on the afternoon of June 22, 2008.
