All Zenph piano concertos are created, tested and validated by Zenph’s team of professional musicians (which include active concert pianists with a thorough knowledge of the concerto repertoire). Our MIDI orchestrations are optimized for use with Home Concert Xtreme (HCX), Zenph’s award-winning score-following software, and Garritan Personal Orchestra, a superior-quality sound library available for purchase at http://www.garritan.com. However, the files will play with the correct sounds if you use any General MIDI (GM) tone generator.
All piano concerto packages includes MIDI files for the entire concerto, as well as for the individual movements. You also have an instrument definition file, intended for Garritan’s ARIA Player (a file with the extension“.aria”).
In order to get the experience of playing with the Zenph virtual orchestra you will need the following: a MIDI capable keyboard, a reasonably modern computer (Windows or Mac) which connects to the keyboard or piano and which runs both HCX and Garritan Personal Orchestra, appropriate cables (USB or MIDI interface) to establish a MIDI connection between piano and computer, speakers or headphones, audio interface (optional but highly recommended), HCX, and Garritan Personal Orchestra (which includes both an orchestral library of sounds and the ARIA Player).
