RePerform is the world's first high-resolution re-performance editor. You can edit piano files for all models of Yamaha Disklavier and AvantGrand pianos. It lets you work with the same high-quality formats as our Zenph team - and even 'upconvert' and 'downconvert' files you already have.

RePerform lets you:

Create your perfect performance
Choose from the best of multiple takes and use RePerform to achieve impeccable splices and flawless timing, all in a high-resolution file if you choose.

Refine your favorite performance
Adjust the pedaling so the dampers touch and release in the right place, or edit notes for the precise moment the dampers meet the piano strings.

Compose experimentally and interactively
Let your imagination loose and explore the possibilities. RePerform can even let you create compositions unplayable by human hands, refine them and play them back, as if played by a master pianist.

Transpose with ease
Change to a different key or just cut and paste passages, RePerform automatically refines each note's touch so the original dynamics are preserved along with the pedaling and timing.

Edit Meta and SysEx events
Add text attributes to your compositions or provide copyright information about your performances. RePerform 1.1 includes an option to edit the complex Meta and SysEx events and text strings associated with your MIDI data.

Record, edit and play back Yamaha's XP format
Yamaha's complex XP (eXtended Precision) format incorporates a scheme that combines Note on/off events, polyphonic aftertouch events, and continuous controller events into a single high-resolution note. These combined events must appear in the MIDI file in the correct order and with the right timing, and must be edited intelligently as a group. The data format for high-resolution pedal positionings is similarly complex.

Today it is not feasible to edit such high-resolution files even with a professional sequencer. Typical sequencers obliterate the XP data scheme the moment you import the file, while providing no practical alternatives.RePerform not only preserves the integrity of the XP data, but also provides you with a user-friendly interface to interact with this data by hiding the underlying complexities from view. It lets you output in regular MIDI resolution, making files familiar to any MIDI playback system.

Supported File Formats

RePerform reads and writes standard MIDI files created by Yamaha Disklavier and Disklavier PRO systems. It also reads and writes MIDI files in the high-resolution XP (eXtended Precision) format created by Yamaha Disklavier PRO pianos.

It can read and write any cross-combination of these:
-- Standard-resolution MIDI files can be up-converted and written in the high-resolution XP format
-- MIDI files in the XP format can be down-converted, that is, their extra events related to high-resolution are stripped away, and the files are written in standard MIDI format
In addition, RePerform supports both 7-bit and 8-bit continuous pedaling (8-bit pedaling is captured by the Mark IV Pro)

What's New in RePerform 1.1?

1. Playback Rate control
2. Trim Silence from beginning and end of file
3. Show effect of sostenuto on notes in piano roll
4. Performance Info display - shows number of notes and pedal gestures in a file
5. Recover an XP file edited with another sequencer
6. Record XP data directly from a Disklavier PRO using a MIDI cable.
