I encounter issues getting the midi channels assigned properly when connected to my Kawai mp10. A common scenario is only the left hand and percussion tracks. From the mixer I can usually reassign channels but last night I could not seem to get both piano channels to work. I had no problems with my old Yamha dgx-640c but the Kawai seems to require set up every time I connect. I haven't spent a lot of time trying get it perfect but I am wondering if any else has encountered such issues and is there a way to set the program/piano so that proper channel assignment is nearly painless? Hi Eric--I believe the problem may be that the MP10 doesn't have a full GM sound set. Therefore, it can't interpret all the assigned channels the way your DGX could.
